Happy New Year from our dental office in Pacifica, California! 2016 is almost over, and everyone in the office is ready to ring in 2017. But before we do, we want to end this year with this: we ask for each of our patients to follow this simple dental New Year’s resolution to get healthier teeth for 2017.
My Oral Health New Year’s Resolutions
Create a consistent brushing and flossing schedule
In 2016, you may have had an inconsistent brushing and flossing schedule. You would miss a day there, forget to floss the next day. Well, it’s time to develop a consistent schedule. Commit to 365 days of brushing twice a day and flossing at least once.
It may seem impossible and tedious, but remember the first two weeks of sticking to a schedule is hard. After that, it will be a breeze.
See the dentist more often
Need preventative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, sedation dentistry, or some other oral care service? Do not hesitate in 2017.
At a minimum, you can improve your oral health by seeing the dentist twice a year. If you see or feel anything serious, like a cavity, do not wait. Get it checked out. If going to the dentist is a financial issue, our office offers financial planning.
Eat a tooth-friendly diet
Acids and sugars and teeth are not friends. If you’re dedicated to improving your dental health for 2017, cut back on highly acidic and sugary foods like soda and candy. Leaving out these two antagonists will improve your smile and oral health check-ups.
Replace them with more water and a balanced diet. Incorporating healthier foods can help strengthen your teeth and make them more resilient against plaque.
