Given that dates are 80 %sugar, you would have thought that they would present a danger to teeth. But research shows that dates, along with other dried fruits, don’t damage teeth. Sugar contained in fruit appears to have a different effect on teeth from refined sugar in regular candies— sugar that has been mechanically separate from the host plant.

Veggie skewers don’t have to be boring. In fact, they can be an easy Valentine treat. You can put anything on a veggie skewer, including carrots, asparagus, mushrooms, zucchini, aubergine, tomato, and peppers. For an extra level of deliciousness, try marinating all of the vegetables beforehand.
Regular chips aren’t necessarily good for teeth. Many are made from refined corn and wheat. Kale chips, on the other hand, are not only delicious and healthy but help with cavity prevention too.
Making kale chips can be an easy Valentines treat. Turn the oven to low heat, around 150 Fahrenheit, cut up the kale into chip-sized chunks, place on a baking tray, cover with seasoning, and pop in the oven for 20 minutes, or however long it takes to dry out. Once baked, leave to rest for fifteen minutes before serving.
Dried meats do not contain any sugar and are usually safe for children’s and parent’s teeth. Beef jerky, pork scratchings, and deli meats can all serve as excellent snacks during the festive period. Dried meats can be eaten as a snack by themselves or as part of a dish.
Don’t just stick to the usual fruits. Try something new for the season of love. Lychees, star fruit, passion fruit, persimmons, dragon fruit, and figs are all excellent options to try out this Valentine’s Day with a loved one.
